At Millewa Kindergarten, strong, authentic relationships with our families, children, staff and the community are at the heart of everything we do. We have close connections with our neighboring Werrimull P-12 School, having regular visits and sharing activities together, which promotes successful transitions. ‘We are a Community of Learners’ 

· We are committed to providing a child safe environment which respects the child’s rights, advocates for all children, respects and encourages diversity and promotes inclusivity. We are here for all children including our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. ‘We are all responsible for protecting our Children’ 

· We acknowledge that all children are individuals and learn at their own pace. With the support of qualified teachers and educators, children engage in Play based programs where children’s voices are heard, they have autonomy and agency within their environment. ‘We really listen to our Children’ 

· We plan educational, play based, engaging programs which support children to develop life long skills, and become inquisitive and confident learners, ready for school and life long learning. We respect and acknowledge the benefits of nature based play, and sustainability. These thoughtfully planned programs are always reflected on, extended and unique, and planned through observing children’s strengths, abilities, goals, needs and interests, and those of their family. ‘All Children are individuals’
