Philosophy
Our Kinder Philosophy
At our kindergarten, every child has the right to feel safe, supported, respected and heard. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where children and families feel a strong sense of belonging.
We recognise families as children’s first and most important teachers. We value each family’s knowledge, culture, values and choices, and work in partnership to support every child’s learning and wellbeing.
We believe children learn best through play. Our program is guided by children’s interests, ideas and strengths, giving them opportunities to explore, make choices, solve problems and build confidence as capable learners. Our teachers intentionally extend children’s thinking through meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions and carefully planned experiences that build on each child’s learning. Through rich indoor and outdoor experiences, children connect with nature, develop curiosity and learn to care for the environment. As they play, they build positive relationships, learn to understand and express their emotions, develop resilience and strengthen their independence. We believe these skills are essential foundations for school readiness and lifelong learning.
We are honoured to play and learn on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives through everyday learning, connection to Country and respectful relationships.
Our teachers learn alongside children through listening, observing and reflecting. We continually adapt our program to meet children’s changing interests and needs, creating meaningful learning experiences that nurture curiosity, kindness, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
